The domain of Glandèves
It is an " island in the mountains", an eyrie between heaven and earth.
600m above sea level, its easily explored 300 hectares dominate majestically the Var valley.
A natural spring gushing out of the rocks, 300m above the house, must have been a key factor in the first settlement during the Bronze Age.
20 minutes walk from the house and 800m above sea level one can visit a proto-historical site discovered on the domain in 2008.
Of the feudal castle which stood proud, perched on the cliff, only the foundations of the square tower remain.
After the French revolution, the bishop of Glandèves had to relinquish the domain he was using as his summer residence and where he had built a consecrated chapel.
Nowadays, peace and serenity reign over this place of an exceptional beauty.
